- The accepted CRE-008 implements 4 high-resolution gratings: z, Hhigh, Kshort, Klong.
- Analysis done by Oscar Gonzalez as part of CRE-008 showed that a J band high-resolution grating would offer higher sensitivity for the Resolved Stellar Population science case, compared to the z band grating. However, rather than replacing the z grating with a Jhigh grating, and thereby losing the scientific capability offered by the z band grating, we think it is better to include a 5th grating configuration by using the Khigh gratings in 2nd order.
- Briefly discussed at CRB 2019-04-01 - no specific updates or actions.
- n.b. Seems to have been no conclusion on this CRE...
- FC 03/24: Bringing it back to life to close this one out properly. Seems this one just disappeared with no actual conclusion... Certainly don't think it was 'accepted and implemented', though the pre-optics requirements does already include a specific filter for the 2nd order J-high grating.
- FC 07/24: Clarified that intention was to include filter in pre-optics; not to explicitly offer the configurtion in first light instrument. So closed.
- FC 07/24: Discussed at CCB. Intention was really just to get the appropriated filters included in the pre-optics, which has been done. So this can be 'ccepted and implemented. Will look later if the configuration is ever offered.
